Does it deliver?

Yes. The numbers mentioned by Jim and Dallas Edwards are based on writing lots of articles. That's fine because he mentions this upfront on his main page. Don't expect to start generating tons of traffic by just publishing one article.

What I really liked were the 10 words you should never use in an article. At first I thought that's going to be a bit hard to do. But the more I practiced not using those words the more well written the articles seem. I now find myself using less and less of those words and further improving my writing skills.

It's not up-to-date with Search Engine Optimization techniques for articles.
 
One of the main reasons there are so many articles being written is that each article includes a link in the Author's box to direct the reader back to the author's website. Another reason is to increase the amount of inbound link to a website.
 

Suggestions

You can take this one step further, here's how:
 
1) Don't includes links with anchor text such as "More Info", "Click Here" for your link. Use links with anchor text with keywords for your website.
 
EX: For a website that focuses on information about "Automobiles" you would use anchor text such as "cars" "autos" "Ford Mustang" "Honda Civic" and so on. The more targeted a keyword the better.
 
2) To further optimize your articles for search engines, add more keywords that match your websites main keyword. This website is about "home based internet business news" so it would include keywords such as "home", "business", "homebased" and other keywords relevant to this website. Adding such keywords is a great way to increase keyword density, some of the same techniques used for optimizing webpages.
 

Would I buy it?
